A little more color in the works!

Hi everyone!
Hope you all had a great weekend. Thanks for the feedback from last week too! Well, I'm inching along on this one but have added the first layer of background in pastel and tried to define the figures' faces a bit more. Also lit up some of their faces more with reflective light. Anyway let me know how you think it's coming along.
Happy Blogging

  1. Hi Giselle!
This is coming along very well! I do think the definition work you've done on their faces has helped very much. And I know you're not done so I assume the "glow" around them will be gone and the blue will have some more light and dark values to break it up a bit? I'm sure you're aware, so great job, keep going! :)

  2. It's so vibrant, and I love the girl being pulled below! This is such a fun piece. I wish I'd thought of it myself, as I've been asked to make a piece to display in our local library...this idea would have been perfect! Now you've got me thinking outside of my box. I'll have to REALLY get creative. It is truely inspiring! Your color choices are awesome so far...although, if you continue with the blue background, isn't the girl below going to disappear (since her dress is blue too?) I can't wait to see this completed! Carry on!

  3. Hi Giselle,
I like the colors you havr chosen so far. If you keep going with the blue you may want to go darker toward the bottom of the page so the hanging girl doesn't get lost. Or maybe even add the glow from the yellow? The little boy in the middle of the book looks really nice. I like the glow you have brought to his face. I think the girl looking up needs a little something to give her the same glow the other kids have. Maybe a few darker shadows might help. This is coming along great. Keep up the good work!

  4. Hi Giselle,
I love the colors and use of light so far.
    Very illuminated and magical.
I also love that color for the sky - very purple.
Good luck and have fun. Best, Chris M.
